How to: Azure DevOps Management Reports and the next steps
To everyone familiar with my project on GitHub, I will be presenting the next steps and how you can contribute to it.
For those who are not familiar, I’d like to introduce my open-source project on GitHub, which generates a large number of reports for Azure DevOps in Power BI.
Azure DevOps Management Reports
Data extraction and Power BI report that generate management informations about your Azure DevOps organization. Using Azure DevOps CLI and Azure DevOps REST API, PowerShell scripts extract data from Azure DevOps, store this information in an Azure SQL Database and shows them in a Power BI report.
This project even has an official video on the Azure DevOps YouTube channel. It’s definitely worth watching here!
But thinking about the future of the project, I have considered some improvements:
- Create new reports. But here, I need your help. Please create an issue here: https://github.com/vinijmoura/Azure-DevOps/issues
- Integrating Artificial Intelligence into the reports to generate insights based on the data already extracted. I’m also open to suggestions and ideas! :-)
- Building on the idea of Azure DevOps Management Reports, I plan to enhance the reports and create a new project: GitHub Management Reports
…And to wrap up this post, I’ve created a PowerPoint presentation to share my journey in open-source contribution and how I built over 50 reports based on more than 15 years of consulting experience for my clients…
This story is definitely going to continue!
